Manchester United were often beaten by Manchester City in the Derby on Sunday, and former Reds defender Gary Neville believes there is growing concern over the future of Reuben Amorim
Gary Neville believes Reuben Amorim has a fever at Manchester United and believes serious questions will be raised if he loses to Chelsea next weekend.
The Red Devils had a deep fall in the derby on Sunday against the Manchester City side, which dropped two previous fixtures. Phil Foden’s first half strike was backed up by Erling Haaland Brace after the break.
Amorim’s Faltering team was able to claim only one win for this campaign. United also endured the devastating League Cup elimination by League 2 side Grimsbytown as they aim to bounce back from the worst seasons of their Premier League era.
Now, Ex-Reds Skipper and defender Neville have admitted that there are concerns about Amorim’s future following another defeat. He believes the pressure will be increased if United falls against Chelsea next Saturday (kickoff at 5:30pm).

“I think his stiffness is to stick to the system when you think there’s any pressure on your manager,” he told Sky Sports (via Manchester Evening News).
“City beat them well. United had some good moments in the game. The first 15 minutes and the first five minutes of the second half. City had excellent players in big moments. Foden, Doc and Haaland stood out.
“I saw United lose this type of game when I felt angry and irritated. I don’t feel anything, but that’s even worse.
“This wasn’t about performances. United just got beaten. Next week at Chelsea, another defeat and big questions will begin to be asked.”
Meanwhile, Amorim revealed that if United wants to change their playstyle, they will need to find a new manager.
“Everyone, I understand and accept that,” he said in a post-game interview on Sunday. “That’s not a record you should have at Manchester United. There’s a lot of stuff – you don’t know what happened in these months – but I’ll accept that. I won’t change.
“When I want to change my philosophy, I change. Otherwise, you have to change the guy. We talk about all the games we lose. I don’t believe in it, the systems, etc.
“My message is that I’m trying to give it everything. I’m doing it all and always thinking about what’s best for the club. It’s always the same message.
“It’s not my decision, it’s not the rest (United Change Manager or not). Until I’m here, I’ll do my best. I really want to win the game. I’m struggling with more things than they do.”
