Mohamed Sara came up with Liverpool’s late winner in Burnley on Sunday, but Arne Slot admits that he may need to carry Egyptians for his quality offensive options
Arne Slot admits that it “probably happens” to remove Mohamed Salah while Liverpool is looking for goals. However, the manager does not anticipate that it will be a regular part of the 33-year-old charm.
The Liverpool boss saw his team come up with another late winner when the Egyptians slammed the house from the spot from the stop time to Scott Parker’s resilient Burnley. Clarett admitted a late penalty after Hannibal Mabri’s handball, and Sarah sent it to maintain a perfect start for his part.
Sarah signed a new contract last season despite many stories that he finally left Anfield. The frontman is prolific, but is now approaching his mid-30s when he is being asked about his durability and long-term impact.

Slots are spoiled for selection in the final third, signing Alexander Isaac, Hugo Ekitique and Florian Wiltz. He was quized as to whether he was thinking about carrying Sarah if he had to try and use all the weapons. The Dutch argues that he “thinked about almost every alternative.”
However, his confession that Sara, who was targeted at the team goal, could sometimes withdraw, is a sign that Egyptians are not always reliant on being their heroes.
Slot said: “I’m going to miss Mo. If I need a goal, it could probably be this season or next season, but it probably won’t happen very often.”
Liverpool started the match at Burnley along with Ekitique, Sarah, Wiltz and Cody Gappo.
Young Lingmoja and Federico Chiesa were both acquired, but Alexander Isaac approached his return to fitness and didn’t even feature on the matchday team.
The British Records signature just arrived from Newcastle, but did not play for the Magpie while his transfer saga unfolded.
This means he hasn’t been running a competitive club football since last season, and slots are keen to manage his returns. Isaac’s arrival is set to significantly ease the demand for Sarah, who scored 34x points in the previous period.
Slot said in Isaac:
“But if he plays 45 on Wednesday, then in our opinion, don’t expect him to play more than 45 on Saturday, as his body isn’t ready.”
