Rasmus Hozilund supported fellow Manchester United lender Marcus Rashford after both players won the weekend from their parent club. A day before United lost the Manchester Derby, Hozilund won the net 14 minutes into Napoli’s debut after beating longtime former United goalkeeper David De Gere.

Then, hours after United lost 3-0 to Manchester City, Rashford came in for Barcelona on Valencia’s 6-0 thrashing, scoring his second goal. That assist marked his first mark for the club with a competitive fixture after he became the first member of United “Bomb Squad” that left early in the summer.

He was also his first team for any team since mid-April due to Aston Villa against PSG in the Champions League last season, Manchester Evening News reports. “What a night!” Rashford captioned an Instagram post after the match. “Visca Barça,” he added. This is a Catalan phrase meaning “Long Live Barcelona.”

Hojlund, who beat Fiorentina 3-1, was among several united players (past and present) who liked social media posts. United captains Bruno Fernandez and Tyrel Malacia were one of the current teams to do so.

Other loan players Ethan Wheatley and Joe Hugill, who will be spending time with Northamptontown and Burnett, respectively, this season. Also showing support was Aaron Wan-Bissaka, De Gea, Donny Van de Beek, Jesse Lingard and Shola Shoretire.

Some of them also interacted with Hojlund’s posts after his debut. “I wasn’t disappointed on my first day with my new job,” the caption reads. “I love it,” he cried out at Harry Maguire, but Antony responded with a gust of applause emojis.

Former players Christian Eriksen, Mason Greenwood, Sofian Amrabat, Wang Bissaka and Willie Kambwara also put the post on their thumbs. Hojlund is set to return to Manchester this week as City prepares to host Napoli in their first Champions League match on Thursday.

Hodglund, like Rashford, may make him happy leaving United in the summer as United endures the worst start to the season since 1992/93 and pressures are rising on Reuben Amorim.

Napoli manager Antonio Conte was clearly pleased with the impact on Hoszilund’s debut – and enjoyed himself with United at his post-match press conference. “Hojlund is only 22 years old. We signed him from Manchester United.
