Liverpool appears to be planning a January transfer period, with rumors linking them to the moves of Brighton star Carlos Valleva. It’s a busy summer at Anfield and eight new signatures have been added as part of an overhaul that costs more than £400 million.

Arne Slot brought Florian Wirtz, Alexander Isak, Milos Kerkez, Jeremie Frimpong, Giorgi Mamardashvili, Giovanni Leoni, Armin Pecsi and Freddie Woodman to Liverpool this summer. Now, Fresh Report already offers rumours about who the Premier League champions can target next.

Baleba’s future was a subject of speculation at the beginning of the summer, with the midfielder being badly linked to the move to Manchester United.

There was even a proposal that if the club expresses true interest, Brighton could even ask for more than £100 million for Valeva’s signature, Liverpool’s Echo reports.

Indykaila now reports that Liverpool may pursue a Baleba deal in January. This was previously quoted by athletic David Ornstein about Man United’s interest at the beginning of the summer.

It is still unknown whether the reported interest is true, and the Reds may have their own ratings for Valleva if they decide to approach Brighton for a New Year’s deal.

The CIES Football Observatory ran the numbers and gave its own evaluation of Baleba in the current market. In fact, the website estimates that Brighton Star is worth between 705 million euros (£65 million) and 87 million euros (£75 million).

Liverpool hasn’t linked much to signing midfielders in the summer and instead chose to prioritize strengthening their defenses at the final hours of their transfer period.

Crystal Palace star Mark Guehe was the target, and a deal was agreed between the two clubs before moving to 11 hours.

“I think it’s ridiculous that we are denying that we’re signing him,” Reds boss Slot said of his part about his attempts to sign Ngwehi. “It’s public, so it would be ridiculous.

“These things happen in football. It happened to our players as well. Perhaps they thought they were so close to signing somewhere else, so things change at the last moment. This can happen.

“For me, we want to sign him because we were there for him. As I said many times, if we felt we could have had the opportunity in the market and strengthen our team, we didn’t hesitate to do so.

Slot added: “That’s a shame, but I think it’s not just for us, but for the players, but he’s in a good place, won the Community Shield and the FA Cup and won with a very good manager.”
