Alexander Isaac is not in the Liverpool squad to face Burnley on Sunday afternoon at Turf Moor.
Liverpool hopes to give Alexander Isaac a Reds debut against Atletico Madrid on Wednesday night after he left the team to face Burnley.
The Swedish forward became the most expensive player in British football history when he joined the Reds from Newcastle at the transfer deadline, but he went on a strike on the Tyneside to force a move he wasn’t taking part in any meaningful preseason.
Liverpool now hopes that the Swedes will speed up ahead of the start of their Champions League campaign, with the club saying on Sunday:
“Swedish International, which has arrived on the deadline to the Reds, trained with his new teammates at the club this week.”

Reds boss Arne Slot told Sky Sports:
“We have a week of playing three games in seven days and I think this is the best lead he can take advantage of against Atletico Madrid.
“It’s always hard to say to full speed (how fast he gets). All I can say is that in the preseason, usually you play the first 45-60 minutes a week or two later, then gradually build it.
“But you do have proper training sessions during the week. Now, like I said, you play three games in seven days, so there are very few proper training sessions with your team.
“So where is he? I’ll say that in the second or third week of the preseason, I’ll say.
“It will be interesting for us to not only make the most of him first, but also make him available for the last time.”
