Tottenham midfielder James Madison was impressed by his important decision to West Ham against Saturday night’s Derby and aired his frustration on social media
James Madison was checked by Val on social media after lamenting the official’s decision to rule out the target in the first half of the Tottenham clash on Saturday night.
The Spurs thought they broke a deadlock against the hammer in the London Derby when Christian Romero planted the header over Mads Hermansen on home goal. However, referee Jarred Gillett ruled the goal of a “push” from Micky Van de Ven of Kyle Walker-Peters as Romero found the net.
The decision quickly became a big buzz online, with Madison on the sidelines after undergoing ACL surgery – venting his frustration with X, who accused him of having a “absolute shocker” with Premier League officers.
“To be honest, the referee and Val had an absolute shock to the start of the season,” he writes. “If that goal is not allowed in a foul, you’ll never see the referee robbed the corner without blowing something away again.”

The Premier League match center account stated, “We have confirmed that the referee’s goal call has been checked and confirmed by Var, and Van de Ven was deemed to have been pushed against the walkerpeter against his back and influenced his ability to play the ball.”
But Ashley Williams, speaking in that day’s match, had insisted that he was in perfect alignment with Madison and that the goal should never be ruled out.
He said: “Christian Romero’s goal was supposed to be standing. The West Ham goalkeeper pushed his player into Mickey Van de Ben.
“The judges are reluctant to make decisions in this area and therefore intervene for the VAR, but that’s their purpose. We want to give them more goals.
