Viktor Gyoker has messed up the pressure that comes with his famous move on Arsenal. His three goals in the first four matches helped Mikel Arteta’s team build a marker for another Premier League title challenge. The summer transfer window was dominated by stories of Arsenal needing a top striker, with sports director Andrea Berta putting pressure on him to be delivered. And he told him what he did and secured the signature of one of Europe’s most prolific scorers over the past two seasons.
However, his Old Trafford debut raised more questions than it answered, and attracted a considerable amount of early criticism. So when he scored his second goal against Leeds United, he celebrated with a sharp response directly to the camera. Later, a quick hair flick, and the Swedish striker brushed away much of the criticism. His distance finish in his weekend game against Nottingham Forest is exactly what fans want to see more of this season.
After the victory, he expressed his excitement for Football London about playing with Ebebeki Eze, who set the goal.
“Yeah, amazing,” he said. “They want to move forward and be a threat. They could see today. They were extremely dangerous. To play with those players, you just need to be in the right position.
The role of the striker was seen by many as a lacking component of Mikel Arteta’s team. Certainly, it was probably one area that was preventing the leap from being a title nominee to a Premier League winner.
The forward was ASEKD about whether he understood the high expectations and excitement surrounding the player’s signature in the role.
Swedish International said, “I wanted to come and go, and of course it’s going to be under pressure at a very big club. You know that. You try your best when you’re on the pitch and don’t think much about it.”
There was no certainty that Gyoker would soon be handed over the responsibility of the striker by Atteta. Hubbert recovered from his injury and looked sharp before the season, especially on strikes against the athletic club.
However, Knock, who was maintained against Manchester United on the first day, has been on the sidelines of the German international indefinitely, marking his second longest absence of the year.
When asked if this would be considered a silver lining, he assured that Gyoker would guarantee more play time than expected, and he responded in a way that would make boss Arteta happy, admitting that it’s never fun to see his teammates injured.
“Of course you always want a few minutes,” he said. “And of course, you get in easily when you play more. But it’s not because someone else you want to play gets injured. You want to play and show that you deserve to be on the pitch.
This underscores the fact that Gyoker was keen to compete for his position. Despite his past connections with Benjamin Sesco and suggestions that Herberts’ presence and lack of guarantees that he was a starting striker may have influenced his decision to delay leaving until 2024, Gyoker was eager to move.
Arsenal is now benefiting from his resolve, and the Swedes are off to a promising start this season.
