Manchester City 3-0 Manchester United: Super Elling Haaland’s braces were enough for the former Premier League champion to head again in the derby
Phil Foden and Erling Haaland once again suffered Manchester United’s suffering as Manchester City scored a 3-0 victory over their bitter rivals in the Derby.
After a sad death early in the day from both blue and red fans, after a moving and exemplary tribute to the boxing of the great Ricky Hutton, City jumped out of the block and took the lead within 60 seconds as Haarland sent out a narrow strike on the Altai Bay Indeal post. However, the United Keeper had no chance when Foden ghosted into the box and planted the headers in his far post 18 minutes later.
Both Foden and Haaland have been prolific in recent derbys, and it wasn’t surprising when the latter took place shortly after a break following a decent work from Nico O’Reilly, Foden and Jeremy Doc. The stunning Doc grabbed his second assist in the afternoon, giving City a disgraceful 9 for not making a mistake with Dink who messed up Bay Indeal.
And after being played neatly in a run that began with half his own, it was Haaland who placed the game in bed in the 68th minute, when he clinically passed the ball for a second goal.

1. Haaland proves Pep’s point
In the week when Pep Guardiola unofficially corked Haaland as the world’s best striker amid a proposal from Arne Slot that Liverpool’s new boy Alexander Isaac was the top of the pops, Manchester City goal machine highlighted his manager’s points.
Since arriving in the Premier League, there has also been much talk about his lack of involvement in the game for a striker with such a staggering goal record. But he had a lot of touches here (31 people counting), and was equally influential in his own penalty area before sending two textbook finishes out to the defeat of the Derby.
The fact that he had eight goals in nine games against City’s bitter rivals is no wonder Guardiola says he won’t change Haaland for anyone. Is there anyone on this show?
2. Amorim left a blue feel
For those who need a quick start to the new Premier League campaign, Reuben Amorim has overseen Manchester United’s first four games.
The Portuguese coach is given time to get things right after United spent the big on a new summer offense, but this wasn’t a long-lived Derby Day performance, and few left an impression on the rival’s backyard.
United may have spurred a gust of winds of good opportunity to bash their statistics in the final 15 minutes, but the game was already taking place as a contest. And more concerned, they are tinsel in defense, and the midfield still looks like an area of concern.
For each OPTA, this is United’s worst start to the league season as they opened four games in the 1992-93 campaign and collected four points. And after spending more than £200 million this summer, I feel like there are more questions than answers about Amorim and this Manchester United team.
3. Return to the song, Foden
Foden developed the habit of scoring in the Manchester derby. But his seventh with many fixtures could be his most important one, but if it turns out to be the beginning of the influential, offensive midfielder Renaissance, he has not hit the club or country’s top form for quite some time. The fact that his goal here was his first since January tells the story.
A return to form would be most welcome for Guardiola, who has seen all his conquest teams turn the mortar in front of him in the last 12 months. This summer, the formerly terrifying former champion has a new Kingpin vacant seat after Kevin de Bruin was removed from the city’s throne. Foden, who had always had an impact on his own rights, was long advertised as the natural successor to De Bruin. He and City hope that Sunday’s latest Derby moment will be the prelude to it.
4. The story of two keepers
The lectures in this accumulation were largely beyond who scored goals for both teams. And Gianluigi Donnarumma and Altay Bayindir nodded between the sticks, but could stay there.
Donnaruma is widely regarded as one of the world’s greatest keepers, and has arrived at Paris Saint-Germain and the Etihad behind conquering Europe. He is elite for now – as he showed with his great save to stop Brian Mbemo in the second half – Bayindil was signed primarily on behalf of two years ago.
United’s newly acquired keeper, Sen Ranmen, is considered a player who can grow into the club’s next No. 1. But like Donnarumma for City, Lammens is drafted faster than United’s New No. 1 1.
5. SESKO and CO failed to fire
On an afternoon enchanted by city attackers, two-thirds of United’s new look were forced to eat scraps to the dying embers of the game. Although we haven’t seen much of Benjamin Sesco since the arrival of his big money, Brian Mbeumo and injured Matthews Kuña stare closely at how he could improve United’s record in front of the goal, and the Cameroonian star couldn’t find the net with an hour of great volleys.
Sesko’s first Premier League start came as the strikers struggled to prepare opportunities for clear cuts until United were in cruise control 3-0. United may have seen them in recent games enough to suggest that their new look attacks would click, but they didn’t fire completely on Derby day.
