Manchester United were well beaten to Manchester City at Etihad Stadium, and skipper Bruno Fernandez issued two requests needed to be rectified immediately
Bruno Fernandez asked Manchester United to be brave and take more risks in their play after falling into a meek 3-0 derby defeat to Manchester City.
United were often beaten at Etihad Stadium. There, Philforden admitted that the city was inspired by the sad death of legendary boxer and City Super Fan Ricky Hatton – heading home with the opener before Ehring Haaland’s late brace.
The Red Devils weren’t really in the game from the moment they fell behind, and Captain Fernandez says they need to improve in at least two areas.
“No, it’s not difficult to find something positive,” Fernandez told Sky Sports. “You have to see what we did well, and that’s not enough because you want to win a football match.
“What we did today wasn’t enough to get results. That’s what we’re going to take from this game. Obviously, look at what we have to do better and look at the next game.

“We need to score goals and not acknowledge them. We keep creating opportunities, but we couldn’t score just for what we wanted. We need to be more control.
“When we go, we have to take more risks and be braveer on the last line. When we go to the centre-back, they’re three for three and squeeze very tight. The space is very narrow.”
Fernandez tried to bring the outcome into perspective. United scored just four points in the opening of four games of the season.
“The outcome is very bad and very bad for us, but I think it’s two ways to watch this game,” continued Fernandez. “We could have avoided the goal. On the ball, we were very positive and very brave. We were playing in front of the ball.
“We wanted what the city got. That’s three points. City was wise to score goals the way they do it. They have a very good team and good players.”
