The latest Premier League transfer news opens on Crystal Palace head coach Oliver Grasner’s move to fail to move to Liverpool during the summer window.
Crystal Palace Manager Oliver Grasner provided new insight into the behind-the-scenes talk that led to the collapse of the move to Liverpool that Mark Guech proposed.
The Palace and Liverpool discussed Guehi’s deal before the transfer deadline last week. As a result, a £35 million move was agreed between the two clubs. Guehi was in London for medical care to join the Premier League champions when the travel fell in the 11th hour.
Guehi’s contract at the Palace expires at the end of the season, but there is a growing possibility that the English defender will leave Selhurst Park as a free agent next summer. The defender appeared in the three Lions during an international break in September, days after the move to Liverpool collapsed.

Reports days after the deadline said that Glasner had “warned” the palace and that he would resign if Gaehe was sold at the deadline. The palace manager now denied these claims and explained what he really said to the club’s chairman, Steve Parrish.
“It’s the last time I want to talk about it,” Glasner told reporters at a press conference Friday. “Crystal Palace fans deserve to hear how it really turned out, and a lot has been written and communicated.
“Number one, I’ve never threatened to leave the club. Never.
“After a lot of discussions, the chairman (Steve Parrish) asked me, “Oliver, do you think we can manage the seasons when we sell Mark (guehi)?”
“If you buy a great 19-year-old player in 1,000 minutes on Ligue 1 and sell a captain, you can’t manage it in the short term, and you have three centre-backs.
“I think it’s very dangerous if you get injured in the back 3 on our schedule. If you need this scenario for Crystal Palace and that’s fine, we’ll sell the mark.
“A great achievement to the Chairman. I didn’t need to threaten anyone. There was no tension between the Chairman and myself. It was just a discussion about sports. He opposed money for the Crystal Palace sports perspective.
“There is a great achievement to the Chairman and Mark for handling it very well, and we spoke on the deadline day and after the deadline he was in camp in England.
“Everyone can see how he played for England, he’s 100% concentrated and he’s the same here. He’s a great player and has a great personality, so as long as he’s here, he’ll be our captain.”
