Nikki Butt declared at Manchester United that Marcus Rashford’s “ship sailed,” pointing out that big players have left the club in the past. Rashford, 27, secured an overseason loan move to Barcelona this summer after being considered a surplus in the requirements of Ruben Amorim last winter. The striker lost his favor to the Portuguese tactician shortly after his arrival in November, and then secured a loan switch to Aston Villa in February.
Nevertheless, after his summer return, Rashford appears to have no prospects for Old Trafford, resulting in him joining Barcelona on loan with a permanent £200 million transfer option. Many supporters will question whether the Red Devils academy products will return to his childhood club, but Batt believes United will have no role to move forward.
The 50-year-old spoke to a man via BetMgm. “Yeah, I think the ship sailed. I think over the last two or three seasons he showed he needs to move the football club.
“I think there’s a lot to say about certain actions and what he’s doing, but not everyone is built to stay at a football club for the rest of their lives.
“There are very few one club player in the entire Premier League, and that reaches a bit of my nerves. Everyone says, ‘Oh, he wants to leave Man United.’ Well, Man United hasn’t performed great.
“Man United won’t win anything in that moment. They’re sliding down the tables of the biggest clubs in the world. My history loves football clubs, but no one needs to stay at a football club forever.
“Yeah, he didn’t behave correctly in certain times, Marcus, we all get it, but he’s an incredible footballer and I think he went to the villa and did well.
“Part of Man United’s history, he’s always loved the football club. He’s been there since he was seven years old. I know his family also loves the football club, but life goes on.
“The big players will leave the football club, bigger players will leave than Marcus left Man United, and in the future, bigger players will leave the football club.
“Hopefully he’ll put Barcelona in Marcus Rashford’s history, and put some shining light into it, and he’ll look back at how amazing it was.”
It comes after Rashford reveals United’s struggle following the loan switch to Barcelona.
The forward claimed that the Red Devils had not been able to properly adjust since Irl Alex Ferguson resigned, despite the appointment of a series of well-known managers in 2013.

“If your direction is constantly changing, you can’t expect to win the league. You may win some Cup tournaments, but that’s because you have a good coach, good players and your team has a match winner. You’re not a coincidence.
“This is something people forget. Yeah, we were far lower than what people consider unity, but what are you expecting if you take a step back, especially for the past six months?
“We say we’ve been transitioning for years. It doesn’t seem like the actual migration has yet to be the migration that we need to start.”
