Manchester United are sitting above the Premier League relegation zone after Phil Foden and Ehling Haaland brought the Red Devils 3-0 Derby Day defeat at Etihad. United went into the game at halftime despite Foden heading for the Manchester City opener. However, the away side paid the price for the remaining moments and did not threaten enough on the other side.
Reuben Amorim’s men only won one of their first four league games in this term, but their loss to City will be 14th before facing the unbeaten Chelsea side at Old Trafford next weekend. After the afternoon of Sada Fening, the sports rating and slate are announced to United players…
Man UTD Player Rating vs Man City
Altay Bayindir -5
He spent a moment of panic before recovering to deny Haaland, but he couldn’t do much about Foden’s header. Haaland’s second second is not enough.
Rennie Yoro-6
He did better than his teammates with Jeremy Doc, but after Haaland hit the post, the confusion with Bay Indil was almost allowed to get City. It was missed 2-0.
Matthijs de ligt -5
Haaland between himself and Shaw was allowed as City doubled the lead. Before he actually did, he handed the ball to the Doc in a move that Haaland should score to make it 3-0.
Luke Show-3
I had a little nightmare. Doc easily beaten on the build-up to the opening goal, then hit Haaland for the second goal. A key touch to stop Haaland from becoming one-on-one in a flash, lost the ball on the third goal.
Noussair Mazrouai -5
Defensively solid, but offensively they didn’t offer much.
Manuel Ugarte-6
The display has been improved, but it took too long to play one first pass that would release MBEUMO One-VS-One. Also, he’s too late to the ball just before Haaland’s first goal.
Bruno Fernandez-5
For your initial goal, you could have come close to Foden. While the City major players stood up, Fernandez was his standard passenger.
Patrick Dorgue-4
He was hesitant to cut a long ball at Bernardo Silva in a move that led to his first goal and consistently lacking in his final product. I flashed a slow shot on the bar and put my head out loud, as if to emphasize the point.
Bryan Mbeumo -7
He’s United’s most threatening player, but he’s been able to do it himself too much. He forced a sublime save from Donnaruma on the time mark and curled the late shot just wide.
Amado-5
For many of the games, his most memorable contribution was the wrong overhead kick. If he had come late and not excavated a very low cross at Mbeumo’s feet, he could have assisted.
Benjamin Sesco-6
In the first half he forced an early save from Donnarumma and did some good runs. I barely touched the second half.
Alternatives
Harry Maguire (Yoro 62)-5
Poor for Haaland’s second goal, and his selfish pass allowed Bernardo Silva to lead Haaland to the goal.
Kobbie Mainoo (Mazrouai 62)-6
He didn’t make too many great counter attacks where he found Dolg a lot.
Joshua Zirzkee (Sesko 80)-n/a
I couldn’t see much of the ball.
Casemiro (Ugarte 80) – n/a
I should have tapped a shot of the whimsical Bruno Fernandez.
