Federico Chiesa was a notable omission from Liverpool’s Champions League team after Aan Slot decided to choose teenager Rio Gumoha in his homemade rules of the sport.
Liverpool boss Arne Slot admits that Federico Chiesa was “not happy” with the decision to exclude Italian from the Champions League team.
The Winger is one of the most famous omissions of slots that are attracting the most attention from the list, and can include up to 25 players. However, at least eight homemade players must be present on the team’s “A” list.
The club’s B list can contain unlimited players under the age of 21, and the list can be updated unlimited times.
However, due to limited team selection for Slot, he chose to rule out Chiesa in his struggle with fitness since his £12 million move from Juventus last summer.
Instead, he decides to take teenage star Rionugumoha. He was impressed after joining the Liverpool team before the season, winning the winner against Newcastle in a 3-2 victory last month.

The exclusion places Chiesa in uncertainty after realizing he was already moving through the order of the pecking order under Anfield’s slot, but the Dutch insisted they would get time for the game at other competitions.

Slot wanted 17-year-old Ngumoha to get involved, but he had to include him on Liverpool’s A-list – this could be a factor in Chiesa’s exclusion.
To qualify for the B-list, Ngumoha was eligible to appear in Liverpool for the second consecutive year since his 15th birthday and had to participate only last year.
Chiesa joins a handful of “bomb squad” players who missed the club’s Champions League team locations, including Tottenham’s Mathys Tel and Chelsea’s Raheem Sterling.
However, if the club is allowed to name another three players on the A-list, there is still a chance that players will work hard and win their place in the Champions League team due to knockouts.
The news surrounding Chiesa comes after his Italian boss, Gennaro Gattuso, revealed that he said he was “not ready to come back.”
