Andy Carroll was sent off on his FA Cup debut for the new club just 19 minutes later | Soccer | Sports

Andy Carroll made his miserable, complete debut Saturday afternoon for new clubs Dagenham and Red Bridge. The former Liverpool striker was shown a red card before halftime, pushing the sixth floor into a FA Cup replay. Carroll was once Liverpool’s most expensive signature, costing £35 million from Newcastle United in January 2011. However, after only 58 appearances and scoring just 11 goals, he was sold to West Ham United two and a half years later for a third of the original fee.

Currently 36, Carroll’s career has seen him play in the British football league and even France. After finishing his stint with Bordeaux before the start of this season, he joined Dagenham and Redbridge. However, the former Liverpool player has got off to a difficult start with the National League South team. His time at the club began with a hamstring injury that ruled him out within the opening week of the season. He finally made his first appearance last week as an alternative to a 5-2 defeat against Worthing.

Worse, Carol received a straight red card on Dagenham and Red Bridge’s first start. In humiliation to the injury, he was wearing the captain’s armband when sent for a foul committed while jumping to the ball.

Dagenham and Redbridge saw the early lead slip away after being reduced to 10 men just before halftime, finishing in a 1-1 draw against the town of Bedford. The result means they are facing a qualifying replay for the second round of the FA Cup this Tuesday.

In other news, Liverpool is enthusiastically predicting the debut of new Newcastle-born record signature Alexander Isaac in the upcoming match against Burnley on Saturday.

The £125 million striker has only played 18 minutes in Sweden this season, indicating he needs to tackle his fitness level.

Liverpool manager Arne Slot praised Swedish manager John Dahl Thomason.

“We treat Alex the same way, so don’t expect 90 minutes a week. He missed preseason and team sessions, so we need to build him gradually.

“But it’s a challenge, but we’ve been signing him for six years, so this is what fans need to keep in mind if I bring him in. There’s always been criticism about football.
