Keown has won an England cap of 43 and believes Anderson is also ready to surprise his own on the international stage.
“He thought he was outstanding (for the UK during an international break),” Keon said ahead of Forest’s clash with Arsenal at the Emirates.
“It was a big business for them because they had to leave Newcastle like they did for £35 million.

“He has happy feet in that midway through, he is persistent, he stands up and down.
“He’s a bit of a go under the radar, but he deserves the opportunity as he played very well in England under the age of 21 in the summer Euro.
“He looks glued to the English team now.”
The 22-year-old has already played a key role in Forest’s midfield so far this season, starting all four Premier League fixtures and registering an assist against Brentford.
Keun wasn’t alone in Anderson’s assessment.
Former Tottenham striker Peter Crouch believes the midfielder also forced his way to plan Touchel.
“Yeah, yeah (I think Anderson has made it to the England team),” Crouch said.
“He has all the abilities, so he went through the system.
“I saw a lot of him under 21 in the summer, and I think he’s a much better player than I think he’s trusted, and people are starting to realize that.
“In the beginning, he was considered a defensive midfielder, but he can play all sorts of roles.”
Anderson’s main rivals in the middle of England include Real Madrid’s Jude Bellingham and Arsenal’s Declan Rice.
However, he also faces tough competition with Adam Wharton of Crystal Palace.
Keown says Anderson still has room for improvement.
Arsenal legend believes the midfielder can still add goals to his game.
“It’s nice to have options,” Keown added.
“He’s sitting there, I really like what he did.
“He’s one of them, right?
“I think more goals are better from him as his career unfolds.”
Competition for the location of Tuchel’s Squad is intensifying, with next year’s FIFA World Cup moving rapidly closer to the US, Canada, Mexico and Mexico.
