Michael Barack hasn’t pulled a punch to Florian Wiltz for Liverpool’s move: “It makes no sense.”

Liverpool broke the UK transfer record in June, signing Florian Wiltz for an eye-catching £166 million, beating Bayern Munich and Manchester City in his signature race

Michael Barack threw his support behind Florian Wiltz’s decision to join Liverpool, claiming that the move to Bayern Munich was “meaningless.” Wirtz, 22, chose to switch to Anfield despite strong interest from his hometown of Bayern and Manchester City.

Liverpool paid Bayer Leverkusen a cool £116 million to Germany International. This is the new British record that existed two months before Arn Slot’s side broke it again with the signature of Alexander Isaac. Wirtz has received slimy reviews to begin his life at Anfield and did not register or support goals in three Premier League matches.

However, during an international break, the playmakers reminded fans that they could do it with a stunning free kick in Germany’s 3-1 victory over Northern Ireland. Barracks, who left Levarksen to join Bayern in 2006, was not surprised to see Wiltz moving in a different direction.

“Did (Wirtz) and his development make sense to play another two or three years in the Bundesliga with Bayern?” Barrack asked Sportsbuild. “Of course he’ll win the championship there.

“But is the Bundesliga the ultimate challenge for him, the highest level? No, because the Bundesliga was left behind in the Premier League a few years ago.

“That’s the reality. That’s why it’s not appealing to the absolute top players in general, either. That’s why it needs to be changed.”

Barack’s comments reflect what Bayern manager Vincent Company said about his decision to reject them. The Bundesliga champion also wanted to sign Stuttgart striker Nick Ultemed before Newcastle Gazamp placed a bid and snapped the highly rated German forward in a £65 million deal last month.

“When you look at the total amount of money flowing there in this transfer window, the number of top players who have moved from the Bundesliga to the Premier League in the last 12 months, that says a lot,” Company lamented. “There are brutal opportunities in the Premier League.

“One, two or three clubs, not just a lot of clubs, but many. Newcastle is a good club, but not in the upper class. The amount of money circulating is huge. Not just how much money has flowed from the Premier League to the Vandesliga, but how much quality has moved into the Premier League.”
