Paul Pogba hasn’t played a minute of senior football since 2023, but French International has become his own new club and currently has a potential return date
Paul Pogba has provided some inexplicable updates on social media as he returns to professional football for the first time in two years. The former Manchester United midfielder hasn’t played since failing a doping test with his second Juventus spell, but is now on track to the comeback trail.
The Frenchman’s first four-year ban fell on appeal, and the sports arbitration court accepting his doping violation was “unintentional” and he was free to return to the pitch in March. The wait has been a little longer, but he is closer to his senior debut as he finds a new club in the form of Monaco.
“Even if the path isn’t clear, you’re based on your faith,” Pogba wrote in an 11-word message on Instagram. Manager Adi Hutter appears to be set up to him a little longer to get back to the points he’s ready to deliver at the top level, but he was given a temporary return date for October when he moved to Stade Louis II.
According to a report in France, Monaco’s boss hater doesn’t think Pogba will be available before the international break in October, but hopes to get him back soon after. That’s a different story from the summer buddies signing ANSU FATI as Spanish International approaches to making bows after taking part in loans from Barcelona.
“I can’t wait to get him on the pitch,” Hater said of Fathy. The 22-year-old returned to Barca after a year of lending at Brighton last season, but only played six times in Laliga during the injury campaign.

The Monaco boss also provided an update on Poga, which the former United star claims to be “on the right track,” but he insists that his first game may not come a little longer. He said: “I think we can see him play as Monaco after the next international break.
“He’s on the right track. It takes a little longer than ANSU, but he’s doing well.
“I’m not surprised, but I’m impressed that he’s coming back every day. He’s a very professional player and I’d like to see him again after the next international break.”
Pogba’s proposed return date means he is unlikely to go back in time to face Manchester City in the Champions League on October 1st. However, Hutter nominated him for Monaco’s Champions League team.
The World Cup-winning midfielder was visibly emotional in his signature video and talked about the moment in club media. “It’s true that I was overwhelmed by the emotions at the moment. I have to say it’s very rare to see me cry like that, so I hope you enjoyed it,” he said with a smile.
“A lot of images came to mind in connection with what I’ve experienced. So, for the club I trusted, to come back as Monaco, all of that came back to me at the moment of my signature.
“But more than anything, it was a moment of joy! But I feel a lot of resolve for me too, and I think I made the best choice to come here.”
Monaco finished third in League 1 last season and competed in the Champions League, and after three games in the new season, he sat in fourth at the table. On Saturday, they travel to Auxerre with the goal of earning their first away points for their new campaign.
