Wayne Rooney and Manchester United are considered synonyms at this point. The British played more than 550 times for the Red Devils and won all sorts of trophies, including the 2008 Champions League.
Rooney is considered one of the best signatures in the club’s history, and his time in the Old Trafford outfit was fondly reminiscent of. And if you’re a little lucky, United’s loyal person might be able to support another member of the Rooney family somewhere.
That’s because Rooney’s eldest son, Kai, is currently playing for United’s developmental team. He has previously said he wants to emulate his father one day by playing for 20 champions, but to the surprise of many, he is not actually a united fan.
In an interview with SY Football, he explained: “I support Everton. People may expect me to support Man United, but it was my dad’s team and I came from there. I love Man United too, but my team is Everton.
“My favorite moment was when I scored four points against Liverpool… despite us losing, I was a main man and I was running a defender of the past. But my best moment was when I scored an overhead kick against Manchester City under the age of 12.”
After the 15-year-old recently shared and captioned a photo of himself on his leg attire and crutches, Kai’s hopes were hit after captioning, “Life won’t get worse.” Many will cross their fingers for Papa Wayne’s quick recovery, open to the joy of seeing her son grow as a football player. ”
He told BBC Sports: That – that’s the main thing for me. ”
