Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs is not one of the 2025 members of Premier League Hall of Fame after he again took off the list
A 2025 nominee list of candidates to participate in the Premier League Hall of Fame has been revealed, but there is an obvious omission. Again, Ryan Giggs is not on the list of 15 strong names to join a respected group.
Manchester United icon Giggs has been a prominent absentee from selected players since inducting the Hall of Fame in 2021. It follows a series of outdoor debates, including his relationship with his brother’s wife, another escape with former brother contestant Imogen Thomas, and the collapse of his marriage.
Most recently, Giggs left his post as Wales manager after being arrested in 2020 on suspicion of assault. He always denied the claims and was cleared in 2023 after ex-girlfriend Kate Greville withdrew from trial.

The 51-year-old hasn’t returned to management since, but he works as director of football at Salford City.
Giggs isn’t on the list of shortlists, but some of his former United teammates are. Patrice Evra and Teddy Shellingham were nominated for the first time, with Gary Neville, Michael Carrick, Nemanja Vidick, Edwin van der Saar and Michael Owen Return being previously selected.
Sol Campbell, Jermain Defoe, Cesc Fabregas, Les Ferdinand, Robbie Fowler, Eden Hazard, David Silva and Yaya Toure are listed on the 2025 candidate list.
Fans can vote for those who wish to participate until September 15th on the Premier League website and app. The results will then be presented to 24 current Hall of Famers, including Ir Alex Ferguson and Arsenwenger, who will make the final decision that will be guided.

Giggs played 632 times in the Premier League and was featured on 963 occasions in all United tournaments during his career as a one-clubman.
He won the Premier League title on 13 separate occasions, winning four FA Cups, four League Cups and two Champion Leagues.
