Chelsea has been charged with 74 suspected violations of free agent regulations during their time at Rome Abramovich. The Russian oligarchs were forced to sell the blues in full for a sale of £2.5 billion in 2022 after being approved by former Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s British government following a full-scale invasion of Russia’s Ukraine.

Chelsea’s billed claims involve violations of agent regulations and third-party investments in players. They were carried over by Todd Boley and Clear Lake Capital from 2009 to 2022, mainly between the 2010/11 and 2015/16 seasons. Chelsea must respond until September 19th.

A spokesman for the FA spokesman said: “The Football Association today states the following: breach of regulations J1 and C2 of the FA Football Agent Regulations, violation of regulations A2 and A3 of FA regulations, and regulations A1 and B3 of FA third-party investments in third-party investments in player regulations.

“In total, 74 claims have been filed against Chelsea FC. The actions subject to the claim range from 2009 and 2022, primarily related to events that occurred between 2010/11 and 2015/16. Chelsea FC is responding until September 19, 2025.”

He also coaches the Premier League. Another investigation into the issues claimed by the Daily Mail It’s still in progress.

While a wide range of penalties are available to the FA, such as point deductions or transfer bans, the suspected crime was committed with previous ownership and the cooperation of the club, so a fine can be considered.

In response to the suspicious accusations, Chelsea FC is pleased to confirm that it has now reached conclusions in its involvement with the FA on issues self-reported by the club.

“The Club Ownership Group completed the club purchase on May 30, 2022. During the thorough due diligence process prior to completion of the purchase, the Ownership Group recognized potentially incomplete financial reports regarding historic transactions of the FA Rules and other potential violations.

“The club has demonstrated unprecedented transparency during this process, providing comprehensive access to club files and historical data. We will continue to work with the FA to conclude this issue as quickly as possible.

“We want to document our gratitude to the FA for our involvement with the club in this complicated case. The focus was on issues that happened over a decade ago.”

Nearly two years ago, Chelsea confirmed that in 2013, a transfer involving Samuel Eto and Willian reported a potential financial rule violation after it formed part of the Premier League investigation. The new ownership group at the time claimed that the allegations “have prior ownership in the current state” and “has no relation to the individual currently in the club.”

A Chelsea statement at the time stated, “These allegations pre-emptly hold the current ownership of the club. They relate to entities that are controlled by the former club owners and are not associated with any individuals currently in the club.

“The Chelsea FC ownership group completed the club purchase on May 30, 2022.

“During the thorough due diligence process prior to completion of purchase, the ownership group recognized potentially incomplete financial reports regarding past transactions during the club’s previous ownership.

“Immediately after the purchase was completed, the club actively self-reported these issues to all applicable football regulators.

“According to the core principles of full compliance and transparency of the club’s owned groups, the club will actively support and continue to do so in investigations.”
