Martin Drury leaves Brentford in three Premier League matches for the season after leaving Valencia to join Keith Andrews and his staff this summer
Former Manchester United coach Martin Dooley reportedly left Brentford just two months after being appointed.
Drury became part of Keith Andrews’ coaching staff this summer as the club tried to rebuild. Brentford lost long-term manager Thomas Frank to Tottenham, and Andrews stepped up to play his first head coaching role.
Andrews brought Drury along as his assistant first team coach, but the relationship has not been going on for a long time. BBC Sport reports that he is leaving the club three Premier League matches for the new season, but there is no explanation yet.
Drury previously worked for United, West Brom, Bradford and Valencia before linking with Brentford in July. After being appointed, he posted to X: “I am delighted to be part of such an amazing football club. I am very excited to work with all the staff and players from this exciting group.”

Before joining Brentford, Drury worked as an assistant to Carlos Corberan at La Liga Side Valencia. “I am leaving Valencia with great sadness,” he wrote on July 5th.
“Thank you to the players and staff. I enjoy every day with you guys. I hope to be a Valencianista forever and come back one day.”
Drury began his coaching career at Bradford, where he worked to become the head of coaching at Bantams Academy. He worked on various sides of the club’s academy side before that, spending six years in total with Braford.
Drury moved to Manchester United, where he coached the under-15 side for two years. However, it was his relationship with Corberan that helped him step into his first senior first team football.
He decided to leave Valencia Corberan and his staff to work with Andrews in the Premier League. “Martin has traveled for a long time and has had many different experiences,” the Irish said as he arrived in West London.
Frank’s departure to Tottenham left a gap in Brentford. Brentford met that by promoting Andrews, from set-piece coaches to head coaches. The club also lost star Brian Mbeumo to Manchester United and Yon Wissa in the summer transfer window to Newcastle.
They launched their campaign with defeats against Nottingham Forest and Sunderland and victory over Aston Villa. Brentford also defeated Bournemouth 2-0 with the Carabao Cup.
