Erling Haaland led the charge as the Manchester City star scored a whopping five goals after Norway wiped out Moldova 11-1 in World Cup qualifiers on Tuesday
Humiliated Moldovan goalkeeper Christian Avram revealed what Ehring Haaland said to him after Ehring Haaland won the net five times in Norway’s notable 11-1 victory. Haaland, 25, helped erase Moldova’s defense on a historic night in Oslo.
The striker scored a 43rd minute hat-trick, bringing Norway up 6-0 in his fourth goal an hour ago. To qualify for the World Cup for the first time since 1998, the hosts were not slowed down and Haaland was urged to step into the throttle.
Even after Norway’s seventh, eighth and nine goals, Haaland resumed the game by collecting the ball from behind the net and sprinting towards the half line. At least he saved Avram before the 31-year-old faced the media.
In a post-match interview with Norwegian broadcaster TV2, Abram started by saying, “Hello, I am a Moldova goalkeeper and I have conceded 11 goals.”
The goalkeeper then revealed Haaland’s respectful comments. “I spoke to Erling,” explained Avram. “He said, ‘That’s not my fault,’ and he had to keep trying to score because of the difference in goals. I understand him.

“It’s part of the game. He wanted to keep fighting.”
Avram replied, feeling that he had admitted 11 goals. “Look at me, what can I say? I’m not going to die. I have to keep getting strong. There’s another match in a few days. But 11 goals are a lot.”
Regarding Haaland’s assessment, he said full-time:
Norwegian boss Stale Solbakken praised his 25-year-old display and his teammate Thelo Aasgaard for allowing him to take the penalty for his hat trick. “That can’t be good,” Solbacken welcomed. “Five goals, two assists, and he gives him a penalty kick.”

Sitting at the top of Group I, Norway is currently six points away from second-place Italy, playing three and four games, respectively. The teams will meet in Milan in their final match in November, but if Norway wins two games in advance, Italy will automatically win that match, improving the difference in opponents’ goals.
Thanks to Thrashing Moldova, Norway has 16 goals and 16 more goals than Italy, which is ready for the playoffs in March. However, Haaland has never represented Norway in major tournaments, so he is not ahead of himself.
