After Kobbie Mainoo’s request to lend Manchester United and leave was denied, Chelsea midfielder Cole Palmer responded to a midfielder’s post uploaded to his Instagram page
Chelsea midfielder Cole Palmer sent a mysterious message to Cobby Mineau after his request to lend Manchester United out and leave. Frustrated by his lack of opportunity, Mainoo, 20, was reportedly asked to temporarily leave Old Trafford on the closing day of his summer transfer period.
After United’s 1-1 was drawn to Fulham, after Mainoo marked his second Premier League match, which was an unused replacement, Amorim said the midfielder was in direct competition with Bruno Fernandez in the first XI location. Things got worse for the young British when they left for Grimsbytown in the second round of United’s humiliating League Cup.
Chelsea had previously linked him, but Bruce didn’t approach this summer. The midfielder recently uploaded a photo of himself running his training sessions during an international break, as well as an inexplicable photo of a scene from the hit movie Whiplash.

Also absent from the British team due to a gro caliber injury that Chelsea picked up before West Ham United 5-1 win, Palmer responded with his own suggestive message in the comments section of Mainoo’s post. The former Manchester City midfielder wrote, along with “3 My Boy” and the Love Heart emoji:
Some interpreted this as meaning that Mineu should look for a exit from Old Trafford, but what Palmer ultimately meant is the subject of speculation. Last summer, Mainoo started all but two of the England match against the Euro 2024 Finals, including the final itself.
Despite the likes of Jude Bellingham, Adam Wharton, Cole Palmer, Bukayo Saka and Phil Foden, Touchel chose not to call Main, either by injury or without.
Like his challenge at Old Trafford, the young midfielder has a difficult job ahead of him when it comes to pushing his path into Touchel’s plans.
An intense personal training session in the gym and training field could potentially get him off to a start in United’s big clash with Manchester City after a break. As Amorim is persistent in developing a 3-4-3 formation, Mainoo will need to replace Fernandez or Casemiro, the players he has relied on since the United boss moved to Old Trafford.
Fernandez is United’s captain and undoubtedly the best player in the last five years, while Casemiro is a profound midfielder with specialties.
Explaining why Mainoo didn’t compete with Fulham, Amorim said:
“I left Mason Mount because I wanted to score a goal and when I changed, I felt the team needed to hold the midfielder, so he needs to fight for his position.
In the Red Devils’ narrow 3-2 home victory over Burnley, Amorim chose to deploy Mine before Ugarte, suggesting that the youngsters took one step at the idea of the United boss. He boasts England’s 10 international caps, which debuted in March 2024 with a 1-0 home loss to Brazil.
