The two English legends clashed last week, with Michael Owen claiming it was “nuts” that Harry Kane moved to Bayern Munich with the highest Premier League goal score within reach.
Kane fought back. “I heard that. Everyone has the right to receive their opinions. I spent a bit of time with him and (Owen) but I don’t know him very well. I respect him as a human being, obviously he is the Premier League and the Great Premier League of England.
“But in the end, as he knows, everyone has a different career. Everyone has different decisions and motivations.
“He hinted at what he went just for the trophy, but he should be at the highest possible level and is truly happy with the big games, title runs, Big Champions League matches and Club World Cup quarterfinals.
“I feel I am improving as a player. I am pushing the limits as a player in terms of goalscoring and improvement. It’s hard to hear about the recent times, but this decision is the best for me and I’m really pleased to have made that decision and be extremely pleased with Bayern Munich.”
