Riot police were charged by the crowd after an event broke out in the stands during a clash between Serbia and England. The incident occurred at the home of a stadium in Belgrade, far from where visiting fans were based.

ITV Commenator Sam Matterface broke the news of the live broadcast, saying, “There’s a flow of riot police running into crowds’ homes.” He then added that the child must be lifted from the brawl while authorities rush to the scene. The TV images did not show the incident.

Touchline reporter Gabriel Clark revealed that the situation was due to political differences.

“The interference happened in the main stands and I was in a pretty bad mood for a few minutes,” he said. “Several Serbs came across that position. The family was involved. Some children had to move on.

“It was Serb fans debating among themselves. It was politically charged, professional and anti-government. The police moved and calmed the situation.”

There have been no reports of serious injuries.

Serbia has a huge political unrest over the controversial President Alexander Vic. The government is so polarized that Serbian national team manager Dragan Stoikovic was booed when he left the tunnel before kickoff due to his views on the situation.

Many Serbian cities have seen a series of protests to demand snap poles to try.

Protests last November killed 16 people and collapsed the roof of a renovated railway station. Since then, protests have intensified as corruption accusations were cast by powerful parties.

Serbia’s biggest sports icon, Novak Djokovic, has expressed his concern after the death of those protesters, and there are reports that he is being targeted by his own government.

Meanwhile, the UK has won the Serbian victory thanks to goals from Harry Kane, Noni Madueke, Ezri Konsa, Mark Guech and Marcus Rashford.
