Nuno Espirito Santo was rejected from his role as head coach at Nottingham Forest after confirming that a late-night statement reported he would be x. In an official release released at 12:15am, the club announced: “The Nottingham Forest Football Club confirms that Nuno Pirito Santo has been released from his duties as head coach today, following the recent situation.”
“The club thanked Nuno for his contributions in his role in his extremely successful days on the city ground, especially in the 2024/25 season. This will be remembered forever in the club’s history. As someone who played a pivotal role in last season’s success, he will always hold a special place in our journey.”
Forest scored four points from his first three Premier League games this season. They lost 3-0 to West Ham United in the final match before an international break that turned out to be Nuno’s final match.
Meanwhile, Serbian manager Dragan Stoikovic has questioned Forest’s ability to maintain star defender Nikola Milenkovic beyond his current campaign.
The 27-year-old, scheduled to face England in a key World Cup qualifier in Belgrade on Tuesday, is nothing more than a forest sensation since moving from Fiorentina last summer.
Milenkovic appeared as an outstanding performer as he became a dark horse in the Premier League last season, making his first appearance in Europe competition for the first time in 30 years.
Stojkovic suggests that Milenkovic’s impressive form can attract attention from some of the continental elite clubs.
“He shows leadership, sacrifice and professionalism,” he declared at a press conference. “You love fighters, and Nicola is a scary fighter who won’t give up.
“It will be difficult to keep him up next season (for Forest) and a bigger, richer club is looking for him.
“I’m happy to have such a player. Serbian fans respect him and I’m grateful for what he does for the national team.”
