Matthews Kuña is a suspicion for the Manchester Derby when Manchester United defeated Burnley 3-2 before an international break
Matheus Cunha gave Manchester United a timely fitness boost after sharing a positive update on his injuries. CUNHA was forced upon Burnley’s 3-2 victory before an international break, venting fears that he could set a bystander spell.
The £62.5 million summer signature from the wolves clenched his right hamstring in the first half of the Premier League match. He and Mason Mount picked up injuries in the match.
Cunha was forced to withdraw from the Brazilian team for World Cup qualifying at the international break. He reassured the fans by saying he was “coming back soon,” and there was even better news on his Brazilian Instagram account.
Posting a photo of herself on her exercise bike at the gym, Cunha wrote, “Time is flying,” along with the clock emoji and the dynamite emoji. He then shared another photo of him posing on a UFC wristband called “Obrigado Pela Moral.”

Reuben Amorim will be desperate to make Cunha available for his trip to face Manchester City at Etihad Stadium on Sunday. United are struggling with creativity despite taking what they left off last season and spending more than £200 million on new forwards. They launched their campaign with a 1-0 defeat by Arsenal, then a 1-1 draw against Fulham and an embarrassing defeat by Grimsby in a penalty. The victory over Burnley was brought about by a slow penalty, and Amorim expressed his post-match worries.
“It was hard to lose Cunha and Mason Mount as Mason Mount played 30 minutes with an injury,” he said. “I’m worried about that because they’re so important to us. We’ll see.”
He added:
Amorim will take a more clearer picture of Cunha’s fitness level in the coming days before deciding on the Manchester Derby team and lineup. Cunha has yet to score the mark with a unified shirt, but his fellow new forward Bryan Mbeumo is now netting in back-to-back matches. The £71 million signature from Brentford scored in Grimsby’s defeat before finding the net in Burnley’s victory.
“Every game is difficult and important. There was a game in the first half, but we had to compete every minute,” Amorim told the BBC match that day. “I’m very happy and we’ll win too. As a striker, it’s important to be confident in your goals.”
