Manchester United have reached an agreement to lend Andre Onana. The Red Devils agreed with Turkish side Trabzonspoll over a temporary move from the goalkeeper.

The transfer window was closed on September 1 for Premier League clubs to sign players, but the Turkish market remains open until September 12th. Onana was still able to take away his deal at Super Rig this season. According to the report, the final decision on the loan is in Onana’s hands. The 29-year-old, who signed United in 2023 for £42 million and was on a contract until 2028, is in discussions over personal terms before jumping out to get medical care.

Former Inter Milan and Ajax shot stoppers have not yet appeared in the Premier League this season, and have taken the exit to Grimsby in United’s Carabao Cup. Altay Bayindir started the season with a Red Devils goal, but enjoys an uncertain start after Onana missed the preseason as Onana recovered from an injury. Reuben Amorim was able to see another goalkeeper online against Manchester City following the international break. United have signed Belgian star Senne Lammens on the transfer deadline.

The 23-year-old arrived from Royal Antwerp on a £18.2 million contract. He was labelled “Great Potential” goalkeeper by director of soccer Jason Wilcox.

“Sennes is a great young goalkeeper with great potential and I’m pleased to have chosen to join Manchester United with great interest from many clubs,” the former Blackburn midfielder said.

Despite that claim, Ranmen could quickly shove into the first team photo if Onana departed. Trabzonspor currently sits second in Turkey’s Topflight, offering Onana the opportunity to win his first team football after the summer summer of his position.

United was also widely linked to signing Aston Villa star Emi Martinez, who was hoping to leave the Midlands. However, it was Lammens who arrived at Old Trafford on a more modest deal.

“I remember being a kid. Manchester United won the Champions League and won the league. I also want to help the team reach a level where they can compete for the title again and play the Champions League again,” he said.

“It’s also one of my biggest points. I want to grow with the team and go up to the heights that I was Manchester United. This is one of the largest clubs in the world, and the Premier League is the biggest competition in the world.”
