In Tottenham Acquisition Lecture, Amanda Stabury Crystales in Newcastle Clips | Football | Sports

Former Newcastle United co-owner Amanda Stabury was left visibly moving after receiving an emotional tribute from a group of magpie supporters for her time at the club. Stavely, 52, helped coordinate a 2021 acquisition backed by Newcastle’s £300 million Saudi Arabia public investment fund.

She was able to earn a 10% stake with her husband Meldad Godoshi, but her impact on the club was thought to be much greater. The entrepreneur has become an astounding turnaround overview for Champions League candidates in two campaigns of new ownership during an extraordinary rise from a Newcastle relegation battle to Champions League candidates. Stavely and Ghodoussi chose to sell their shares in July 2024, bringing aside as PIF increased control to 85% and the Reuben family increased their holdings to 15%. Following her departure, Stavely declared her eternal devotion to Newcastle, describing her experience as a “privilege” as a co-owner.

About 14 months later, Staveley appeared on the High Performance Podcast to discuss her Newcastle journey. Host Jake Humphrey read a message from a group of Magpie supporters who sent waves of emotion over her. The tribute reads as follows: “We are grateful for the investment, the progress of the pitch, and the ability for our club to finally compete again, but football clubs are more than just business: it is a community, and families thriving with communication, warmth and understanding.

“It is a faithful, passionate black and white army that Newcastle United risks losing its important connection to its soul. We risk losing its important connection to its soul in order for the club to rediscover its voice, reunite its fans, and regain that necessary warmth that Amanda Stabury has so brilliantly provided.”

When asked about her feelings, Stavely was visibly moved and said, “It’s really hard. God, sorry. It’s really hard, so it’s really nice and that’s why I went to Newcastle.

“Departure was the most difficult decision I’ve ever made and it took quite a lot of time to understand and execute what’s best for the club.

“We put it in the hands of very capable people, and there are countless exceptional individuals with generous hearts who are very dedicated to that club, their community and everything it represents, so it was a privilege for me.

Stavely is linked this week with a potential acquisition of Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur. Reports from The Telegraph claim that the bid to buy a PCP International Finance Consortium club to buy the club was unsuccessful shortly after Daniel Levy resigned as Spurs executive chair.

In a statement released Sunday evening, Spurs said, “We have confirmed that (i) the share capital of PCP International Finance has been received, explicitly rejected, and explicitly rejected, in connection with the proposal issued.

“The Club and Enic board confirm that Tottenham Hotspur is not on sale and that Enic is not going to accept such offers to gain interest in the club.”
