English Player Rating vs Serbia: Anderson and Gaich shine as Trouble Brews | Soccer | Sports

Thomas Tuschel’s English side took a huge leap towards World Cup qualifying with a 5-0 victory over Serbia. The troubles of the terrace and hostile atmosphere did not leave the winner of 1966.

The one that was billed as England’s toughest test in World Cup qualifiers was found to be walking around the park. Harry Kane nodded to the opener, and Noni Madueke danced the defense of Serbia, tying his first goal in British colours.

Ezri Konsa added a third to Tuchel’s men just seven minutes after Restart. His centre-back partner, Marc Guehi, also named his scoresheet later that day. The five-star performance concluded with an additional time when Marcus Rashford converted from the spot to mark his return to the English side. Express sports handout player ratings after England wins Serbia.

Jordan Pickford-6

I was more impressed with his feet than he had his hands, but that’s because Jordan Pickford had a save to make. He will be No. 1 when England travels to North America next summer. He is one of the most underrated English players of his generation.

Reese James-7

Chuchel is stubborn and of course. How useful it would be for a German to have a player like Reese James. He’s already used to being used to Touchel’s methods since his days at Chelsea. If he can stay healthy, he will be one of the names on the World Cup team sheet.

Marc Guehi -8

A performance that showed exactly why Liverpool was keen to sign him at the summer transfer window. Marc Guehi’s match has risen to a further level in the last 12 months, but it’s probably fair to consider England’s best centre-back at the 25-year-old.

Ezri Konsa -7

He managed to pilot a third of his visitors alive within the penalty area, but he was equally aware whenever a Serb attacker made an unusual advance to England’s final third place.

Tino Librament-7

It’s stylish, efficient and full of energy. They are just a few words describing Tino Libramento’s performance, and Newcastle Ace is impressive on both ends of the pitch.

Elliot Anderson-8

Aside from the volatile and misguided passes in the first half, it was another composed performance by the England Anchorman. Elliot Anderson’s presence at the midfield base was something the three lions were whispering to scream and scream what was lacking in last year’s Euro 2024’s final defeat to Spain. Perhaps the missing part of the English jigsaw?

Declan Rice-7

It’s become common to see Declan Rice picking up assists recently. This is his ability from dead ball situations. The Arsenal midfielder contributed two goals in a solid show with Serbia.

Morgan Rogers-7

With England’s hidden gem on Tuesday night, Morgan Rodgers continued to carve things in the final third. Although he himself has earned the assist and is set to have a lot of competition for its No. 10 role, Aston Villa Ace has not done any harm to such a show.

Noni Maduke -7

One of England’s brightest performers since 2024, Lee Madueke was originally eye-catching after Lee Carsley brought him to his side and hasn’t looked back since. His goal was something like the dynamism that England fans were screaming from their attackers.

Harry Kane-7

After dismissing criticism following a monotonous victory over Andorra, Harry Kane insisted that he would score a goal if he was given a chance. He did just that. Bayern Munich’s marksman led a tricky header to the bottom left corner and started the score at Belgrade.

Anthony Gordon-6

It’s probably the quietest in the UK, but it wasn’t something I couldn’t give it a try. It’s been weeks since Anthony Gordon took the field after being given his red card in the first half of his clash with Liverpool. He will be one of those looking over his shoulder given the quality of players currently absent on the team.

Alternatives:

Marcus Rashford-7

Gary Reinker has become the first Barcelona player since wearing an English shirt, and Marcus Rashford scored it in goal. It means a world to a world that has been attacked over the last few weeks.

Ollie Watkins -6

Looking vibrant, he approached the net, but Ollie Watkins was unable to hold on his run and was correctly called offside.

DJed Spence -6

This is the first cap worthy of one of the best players in the Premier League this season.

Jarrod Bowen -6

Perhaps it was unlucky that we hadn’t picked up a few more minutes during our current camp, but it looked lively from the bench.

Jordan Henderson-6

It looked happy to be there. That’s what’s important at that stage of the game.
