Speaking about the appointment of Postcoglu, Marinakis said:
“His experience coaching teams at the highest level and desire to build something special with us in Forest makes him an incredible person to help us on our journey and consistently achieve all our ambitions.
“After consistently building a season after season to win promotion to the Premier League and secure European football, you need to take the right steps to compete with the best challenges of the trophy.
“Ange has the qualifications and track records to do this. We are excited that he is taking part in our ambitious journey.”
Postcoglu played four times for Australia between 1986 and 1988, managing victory in his hometown of western suburbs and South Melbourne, Roa and Melbourne in Brisbane, overseeing seven titles in Australia under 17 and under 20 years of Australia, and began his management career in his hometown.
The 60-year-old took charge of his country at the 2014 FIFA World Cup and won his first AFC Asian Cup a year later.
The move to Japan continued, with Yokohama F. Marinos appointed Post Coglu in December 2017, and in 2019 he ended the 2015 J. League title drought.
Postcoglow made history in 2021 when he became the first Australian to manage major European clubs, and two years later Celtic won five major trophies. The Scottish Premiership, the Scottish League Cup and the Scottish Cup.
That success made him the Spurs Manager in June 2023, becoming both the first Australian and Greek Premier League manager in the process.
