Arsenal signed Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad for £55 million this summer, with the Spanish midfielder tilting to help gunners win silverware in the upcoming season
Manchester City’s midfielder Rodri claims that Arsenal’s Martins Vimendi could become one of the best players in the world.
Zubimendi is a new arrival at the Emirates after signing from Real Sociedad for around £55 million in competition with something like Real Madrid.
Rodri is an international teammate of Zubimendi with Spain, and has high views on his fellow midfielder, replacing the 26-year-old as a future star on the part of the nation.
The dominant Ballon d’Or winner sees Zubimendi’s discipline and mentality as something that will set him apart from his rival midfielder after being already impressed in the first three games of Arsenal’s season.
“He’s an incredible player,” Rodri said ahead of Spain’s World Cup qualifiers against Türkiye. “He has the discipline and mentality that will make him one of the best if he isn’t already.

“I spoke to him the other day and told him it was his time, I told him I was leaving the team’s key.”
Rodri and Zvimendi both appeared on Spanish teams, winning the Euro 2024 last year, beating England 2-1. This is the result of the former being nominated as the winner of the Ballon d’Or.
But that honorable acclaim has come at a difficult time for Rodri too.
He said the injury certainly veiled the honor of winning the award, but admitted it helped him during the bystander test.
“Injuries are much more important than Baron de Holle,” he added.
Rodri’s comments come when he is trying to rediscover the incredible form he struggled with after the Barondoor or his long injury layoff.
However, after he failed to impress Manchester City’s 2-1 defeat to Brighton, Rodri defended his performance and said the group must take collective responsibility.
“I’m not (Lionel) Messi,” he told Sky Sports. “I just come back, win the team, win, win.
“This is a group. When I won in the past, I needed all my teammates. Certainly, I need to recover to my highest level and we need to look at everything about ourselves. It’s a collective sport.
