Nuno Espirito Santo is reportedly fired to Nottingham Forest for just three games in the new Premier League season, with a statement from the club expected. Portugal’s head coach and club owner Evangelos Marinakis has seen their relationship broken in recent weeks. And the former wolf and Tottenham bosses are expected to leave as a result.
Last month, Nuno confessed that his partnership with Marinakis had changed after the arrival of global football Edu, claiming that he and the Greek businessman were “not very close” anymore. He was then publicly supported by Marinakis, but later lost his job.
The Portuguese outlet records claim Nuno’s exit was confirmed by a statement on Tuesday, earning four points from Forest’s first three games. Things like Ange Postecoglou, Jose Mourinho, and Brendan Rodgers are rumored to be potential alternatives.
The confirmation that Nuno has been released from his duties is athletic despite being led by Europa League football this season, despite being led to Europa League football through a sixth place finish in the league.
Nuno, who took over from Steve Cooper in December 2023, raised concerns about the summer transfer window ahead of the Forest campaign’s opening game, saying there was a “big problem” and “it’s very far from where we should be.”

As many as 13 players joined the club during the offseason, including a record-breaking signature by Omali Hutchinson from Ipswich. However, the £37.5 million new man was mysteriously omitted from Nuno’s European team, and the deadline added Olexandre Zinchenko was omitted.
But the heart of this issue appears to be the behind-the-scenes tension between Nuno, Marinakis and Edu. The head coach said they would hold clear consultations over an international break.
In August, Nuno said, “When there is smoke, there is fire.”
After the release of Marinakis, Nuno felt somewhat certain that he was in charge of Forest’s upcoming trip to Arsenal on Saturday.
“Yes, I think so. I don’t know how to answer that, but I do,” he said. “I’m totally relaxed in that sense. I need to talk about the future of the club and its commitment to the club. We want the same.
“We have to talk. These kinds of things should be done in the right moment, and the right moment is after the game. Now, we’re focusing on West Ham. Then we’re taking an international break and I think that’s the right moment.”
He did not regret complaints about the recruitment, but said, “I said it, and I have no regrets about it. You don’t need to regret it because it’s honest, you are honest and faithful to yourself.
“I’m someone who talks a lot about things and has a deep remorse about what’s going on. But now I’m watching players go through the doors – the club is making a big effort to complete the team. I was very honest.
