Emi Martinez has appeared as an option for Manchester United to strengthen their goalkeeping division.
Emi Martinez claims he is “happy” despite missing out on his dream move for Manchester United. Aston Villa and Argentine goalkeeper were expected to leave Midland this summer after some great campaigns.
He said an emotional farewell to Villa Park at the back end last season, and then made a big appearance on United’s list of candidates for searching for new goalkeepers. And although he left options late in the window, the Red Devils eventually chose another player.
They completed a £18 million deal for Senne Ranmens of Royal Antwerp on the deadline. Martinez made his first comment as the dust settled down.
The goalkeeper has linked his international duties with his Argentine teammates in advance of his international duties, sharing many images of him in the Argentine kit in captions.
The real world champions will face Venezuela and Ecuador over the next two weeks in the qualifying round for the next World Cup. And while Martinez wants to focus on his national team’s commitment for now, Argentine legend Sergio Goikotia has admitted that there are concerns about his mentality right now.

Speaking to TNT Sports Argentina, he said: “Living ten months before the World Cup is not an ideal situation. He’s proven himself.
“He’s a guy with a lot of personality and everything he places in his advantage in many situations where he makes a difference. We have to see how it unfolds for him now, and that’s the only thing that scares me.”
Meanwhile, United legend Rio Ferdinand suggests that he prefers his previous club to make the move for Martinez instead of Runmen.

Once the international break is over, Martinez hopes to return to the villa. Marco Bizotto begins with two of the club’s opening three games, with Martinez in between the sticks for a 1-0 defeat to Brentford.
