Florian Wurtz joined Liverpool on Premier League records early in the summer window when Bayern Munich was forced to pay attention to other transfer targets
Bayern Munich chief Uli Hoynes claims that the summer transfer period was a success for the club despite missing out on Florian Wiltz. After Bayern and Real Madrid explored the move early in the summer, German Wirtz joined Liverpool with a worth £116 million move.
Wirtz caught his eye with his performance with Bayer Leverkusen at Bundesliga. Hoenes admits Bayern is a 22-year-old admirer, but said he is paying the price of the deal with Liverpool’s payout.
“We are very pleased with FC Bayern,” Wheness told German media (via Echo). “We’re the real winners of the summer transfer window. We had a strong team and we didn’t need to bolster that. Of course we wanted to have Florian Wharts, but we never bought him for 150 million euros (£130 million).
Liverpool wasn’t the only one to surpass Bayern due to its summer goal. Wirtz’s fellow German International Nick Urtemad, despite his previous suggestion for him to move to the Arena in Allianz, ended up in Newcastle and after blew the Bavarians out of the water, Hoeness targeted the magpie.
“We provided Nick Ultemed with 55 million euros (£47.7 million), while Stuttgart wanted 75 million euros (£65 million),” he said. “In the end, he went to Newcastle for 90 million euros (£78 million).” What Newcastle is doing has nothing to do with football. It’s like a recent monopoly.”

Despite missing Wirtz, Bavaria made many senior signatures during the summer windows. Lewis Diaz and Jonathan Tae were forever and Nicholas Jackson lended it from Chelsea.
The Vincent Kompany team spent about £75 million on permanent and loan transactions, collecting similar amounts through sales. Mathys Tel joined Tottenham forever after the Lonely’s spell.
Wirtz has started all three of Liverpool’s Premier League games since the summer move and is still waiting to offer his first goal or assist, but he enjoys the freedom given to him by Arne Slot. “I came here to play the best football because I thought I could fit this team,” he said before the start of the new season.
“I really enjoy the first few weeks. I enjoy playing with these players. It’s getting a little better each time and I’m happy how it’s going.
“I think I’m a player who needs freedom on the pitch. The manager gives it to me. Of course I have to respect the position I’m in and the players around me, but I’m trying to do my best on the pitch and find the right place.
