Arsenal completed many important signings during the summer transfer period, but there may be competition if they return to one of the targets that did not participate.
AC Milan is claimed to be one of three Italian teams ready to move to Arnau Martinez. Girona’s right back Martinez was linked to Arsenal throughout the summer, but will remain for the time being.
Milan has yet to bring an experienced successor to Kyle Walker. The England International loan from Manchester City has not been permanently made, and Walker has joined Burnley.
Rossonelli sold the Emerson Royal to Flamengo, with Alessandro Florenzi retired and young Alex Zimenez lending it to Bournemouth. Zachary Athekame is the only right-back to participate, and although a young 20 year old has arrived from a young boy, more experience may be required.
According to reports from Italy (via Soccer Italy), Naples and Juventus could rival Martinez’s Milan. The Spaniard, whose contract with Girona will run until 2027, is expected to be available for less than £20 million.
Arsenal’s link at the beginning of the summer was just over £8 million in reported price range. It is still unclear if the gunners will return in January if the rival club are ready to pay a higher amount.

Martinez lost Girona’s 5-0 defeat to Villarreal amid a transfer speculation, but returned to starting XI against Sevilla. Visitors drove off the 2-0 winner, leaving the bottom of the La Liga table after a three-round match.
The 22-year-old was also involved when Girona lost to Arsenal in the league stages of the Champions League last season. The extremely altered gunner side came to the top that day, with Ethan Nwaneri winning the winner in a comeback victory.
Milan had one win and one loss from the first two Serie A games, and finally defeated Rek 2-0. Reuben Loftus Cheek was one of his goals, and the 29-year-old returned to the English team for the first time in six years during his current international break.
“It’s always been a joy to work with him and I’m very pleased to have had the opportunity to call him out,” said Thomas Tuschel, an English boss who worked for Loftasteak at Chelsea, about the midfielder. “He’s a very nice guy around him, very friendly, very polite, has a sense of humor and is full of quality.
“I don’t know how good he is, or how good he is, but he fits seamlessly because of his personality and quality. He showed it right away.”
Loftasteak was an unused replacement on Saturday as England beat Andorra 2-0. Walker was not part of the latest team that was called by Tuchel in March and June.
