Real Madrid forward Killian Mbappe revealed he had approached Bayern Munich during his time in Monaco.
Mbappe went through the youth ranks after joining the club at the age of 14 and was impressed by his first team in the 2016/17 campaign before he was snapped by Paris Saint-Germain.
But Parisians were not just people keen to sign talented forwards.
“Dortmund also asked, RB Leipzig. And they were just three clubs I remember. Maybe there were others, but I don’t.”
Mbappe joked: “Everyone is asking now, it’s a little too late.”

And it’s Bayern who Mbappe is looking for success in Germany this season. “The Bundesliga is Bayern. They’ll win,” he predicted.
The French also hope that PSG will win yet another League 1 title, but when calling for the winner of the Premier League this season, it felt difficult.
Mbappe said:
“But I have high hopes for Arsenal too, because the core of the team has known each other for a long time and that’s a key factor in football.
“And Manchester City is always on the forefront anyway, with Pep Guardiola and Erling Haaland.”
When pushed to choose one of the teams, the 26-year-old admitted, “It’s tough. Maybe Arsenal, maybe that’s their year. It’s certainly easy to say City or Liverpool.”

Madrid enjoyed a strong start to the new season, opening and winning three La Liga games under new manager Xabi Alonso, with Mbappe scoring three goals at that point.
The Los Blancos hope for a strong campaign this time after seeing Barcelona wipe out domestic honors and lose to Arsenal in the quarterfinals of the UEFA Champions League.
Mbappe has so far been impressed with Alonso, who spent five seasons with the Bernabeu as a player between 2009 and 2014.
“I made a big impression on him,” Mbappe said. “You see people who want to succeed. He played for Real Madrid himself, so he knows the club perfectly.
“At this point, we’re just trying to implement what he’s telling us, we’re trying to understand the game plan he has for us, and we’ll see what happens.
“Of course, we were good at starting with three wins, but it’s really positive, but we have to improve. We have to keep working because we know how difficult it is to win a trophy.”
Mbappe added:
“This season is really important to the club, but we’re also close to the World Cup, so it’s important for all the players who want to get there, including me.”
