Club World Cup champion Chelsea nominated the team in the League phase of the Champions League, with one of Enzo Maresca’s summer signatures not on the list
Chelsea’s new boy, Fakundo Buonanot, said he was excited to play Champions League football when he joined the Blues on loan from Brighton. However, just 48 hours later, the dream was shattered as Enzo Maresca left Argentina from his European team.
Buonanotte has completed one of the more surprising deadline switching. The 20-year-old was linked to Leeds after lending to Leicester last season and loaned to Leicester, but found himself at Stamford Bridge instead.
“I’m very happy. It’s my first time playing in the Champions League and I hope we have a great season,” Buonanotte joined Blues at Club Media Fter. “I look forward to playing with everyone.
Sadly, for the South Americans, there was no place for him in the European Maresca team. He’s not the only one who misses him.
Champions League teams can also include players under the age of 21 on their “B” list, but only if they have been with the club for more than two years. This makes it all possible without Romeo Lavia, Josh Achempon, Tyrique George and others name their “A” list, but the same is not true for the new arrival Beenanot.

Chelsea took part in the Champions League this season, and as the owner of the Club World Cup, he defeated European champion Paris Saint-Germain in the final. Their campaign begins with a tough away game against Bayern Munich, and their first home game will be seen as Benfica visits Stamford Bridge on September 30th.
The 2021 Champions League winners have not been in the race since the 2022-23 season when Thomas Touchel was fired after his first group game and successor Graham Potter led them to the quarterfinals. Real Madrid took the opportunity to stand up and win the 2-0 home.
Blues boss Maresca will be taking on Chelsea in his Italian hometown for the first time after his team was handed a trip to Atalanta and Naples. The game in Naples pits his teammate at Juventus during the pair’s play day against former blues boss Antonio Conte.
“Naples have just won the league with Antonio (Conte) and Atalanta in the last five or six years, and (former manager Giampierogas Perini) is one of the best Italian teams in Europe, for me,” Maresca said. “Both are a very good team and are especially pleased to return to Italy to eat delicious food! I’m excited for the Champions League.
“We’re happy to be in the draw. We’ve brought this club where we need it, so I’m so happy and very happy.”
