Benjamin Sesco believes he’s improving every day at Manchester United, but the Premier League is accepting that he demands him to reach a new level when he seeks his first goal
Benjamin Sesco has asserted that his top form at Manchester United is coming as he acknowledges that Premier League levels are “certainly much higher” than he’s used to.
The Slovenians made a £74 million switch from RB Leipzig in the summer and were tilted to help solve Old Trafford’s goalscoring problems. So far, Sesko has been used only from the bench and has appeared as an alternative in all three league matches.
With those cameos, he struggles to make many impacts and is still waiting for his first goal with his new colours. The 22-year-old arrived with a reputation as one of Europe’s best young forwards, hitting double digits in the Bundesliga last season.
Now in the UK, Sesco admits that demand is much higher as football levels rise. As a result, he rubs his shoulders with high quality players and believes his best football will come, so he is improving.
He told Exipa: “The level of the game is certainly much higher, and the players and teammates are at a higher level. After all, British soccer is at the highest level in the world of soccer.

“But I am very much looking forward to the coming period, as I am also getting better and faster in all my training sessions. I am also moving into a soccer mentality every day. Luckily, my wish has come true.”
Sesco’s only start came in the embarrassing Carabao Cup defeat at League 2 Grimsby Town. The striker copted criticism for stepping up in the second half of the shootout, but it was later revealed that the Slovenians were suffering from convulsions.
Reuben Amorim passed the chance to trigger Sesco during Saturday’s victory over Burnley. When Matheus Cunha was kicked out in the first half, the United boss chose to bring Joshua Zirkzee instead, with Sesko winning the 20 minutes at the end.
Nevertheless, Amorim asserts that Sesco has a huge ceiling and believes he will enjoy a great career at Old Trafford. He said when he signed it: “I think he has great potential in everything he does.
“He can play different kinds of football. He feels the Premier League is really offensive and he’s going to learn, but he has great potential and you can see that Ben has been a Manchester United striker for many years. So we’re paying a lot to have a striker with his history to our club.”
