Alejandro Garnacho moved to Chelsea this summer after dropping out with Reuben Amorim, but past comments about Bruno Fernandez’s former Manchester United Winger could serve as a warning to his new club
Bruno Fernandez claimed that Alejandro Garnacho “didn’t have the best attitude” when he broke the Manchester United Youth Academy. The 21-year-old split up completely with the club after he eventually secured a move to Chelsea.
The Argentine winger signed his first professional contract with the Red Devils in 2022 after making a move from Atletico Madrid two years ago. However, United Club captain Fernandez claimed that Garnacho had no top attitude when he stepped up to the first team under Eric 10 hug.

“At the beginning of the season, he wasn’t at his best. On the tour (preseason) he didn’t have the best attitude, so he never got the chance until now.
Garnacho received plenty of opportunities in his first season for the Red Devils, earning three goals and two assists in the Premier League from his 19 appearances. And while the youngster initially appeared to be part of Reuben Amorim’s plan when the Portuguese tactician arrived as the successor to the 10 hugs, things changed towards the summer.
Amorim’s decision to consider Garnacho surplus in Old Trafford’s requirements came after the winger publicly questioned his decision to bench him for the Europa League final defeat to Tottenham Hotspur. Garnacho appeared only in the second half of a 1-0 loss in Bilbao. After the match, he told the media: “I played every time until I reached the final.
“And I played 20 minutes today. I don’t know. I’ll enjoy the summer and see what happens next.”
He also criticized the club’s Premier League campaign when he finished 15th place, saying, “It’s obviously hard for everyone. Our season was an S***. We were no match for anyone in the league. We lacked a lot. When you’re not scoring a goal, you always need more.”
According to Athletic, Amorim is said to have told Garnacho: “I hope we have good agents this summer,” he said in a training ground discussion ahead of United’s final match with Aston Villa that players are Chelsea’s chosen destination.
Bruce wasn’t in much of a rush to file Garnacho’s official offer, but they ended up hooking the man in the late stages of the summer transfer window and coughing £40 million to let United’s hands go until 2032.
Taking him to Instagram after his departure, Garnacho quickly thanked Red Devils and their supporters for his time in the Northwest.
“Dear Manchester. After five unforgettable years, this special chapter of my life is over. We have created a moment of being with me forever. I am extremely grateful for this. Thank you to my coach, staff and my teammates for believing in me.
“We are proud of what we have achieved together and are excited about what will come, and we hope that the club will do nothing but future success.
While Kobbie Mainoo wrote “All Best Pairs”, many of Garnacho’s United teammates responded to the post immediately.
Chelsea fans will unfortunately have to wait a while before seeing Garnacho active for his new club, given the current international break. The Bruce will return to action on Saturday, September 13th, facing Brentford at GTECH Community Stadium.
