After most European leagues’ summer transfer windows were closed, the club sent their final teams to UEFA before the start of the Champions League, Europa League and Conference League
The Premier League and overseas clubs have named their teams for European competition this season, mercilessly excluding financial names and large sums of money signatures. The deadline was closed on Monday for most of the continental leagues.
The teams closed deadlines for league clubs that did not close this week, as well as league clubs that did not close this week. For example, Galatasaray had to sign Ilkay Gandogan from Manchester City by midnight on Tuesday.
But just because you’re an attractive new signature doesn’t guarantee you a place. UEFA has to make ruthless decisions as the club can include 17 non-home players on the A-list.

After all, it’s a “champion” league, so let’s start with Liverpool. Rio ngumoha, who turned 17 last week, is included at the expense of Federico Chiesa.
Both stars already enjoy special moments this season, with Chiesa’s late goal in the opening night against Bournemouth going down as one of the campaign’s most memorable moments. However, Ngumoha’s 100-minute winner at Newcastle may be taken away in the next game.

Now, Chelsea, no one is surprised – one of the most raised eyebrows. Facundo Buonanotte, who signed the Blues on a seasonal loan from Brighton just three days ago, was oddly left behind, unlike the rest of the summer additions.
Raheem Sterling and Axel Disasi are snatched as they belong to Enzo Maresca’s plans. Disasi has been omitted despite being injured in a long-term, particularly included fellow centre back Levi Colwill.
Speaking of injuries, there is no place for James Madison and Dejan Krucevsky (and the new signing Kota Takai to Tottenham’s A-list). But the most surprising omission is Star Masis Tell, which is £30 million.
The French striker arrived on loan from Bayern Munich in January, with Ange Postecoglou still in charge, and his move was permanent this summer. However, new boss Thomas Frank has removed him from the Spurs team along with Radu Dragusin and Yves Bisuma. The latter is linked to departure.
But there is hope for young people like Tel and Buonanotte. Tels and Buonanottes can be named in clubs “B List” that must be submitted by midnight the day before the game. Teams can register an unlimited number of players in a season if born after January 1, 2004.
Jesus to Arsenal and Gabriel is omitted. The Brazilian forward is back from a persistent anterior cruciate ligament injury in January. There is a spot for 15-year-old Max Dowman who can become the youngest player in Champions League history, and Arsenal’s first six fixtures turn 16 on a big year.
Most clubs have nominated up to 25 players on the A-list, but Newcastle’s lack of “club-trained players” means Eddie Howe is limited to just 21 teams.
Pep Guardiola had a simple task to name the Manchester City team. Participants include Gianluigi Donnarumma, Rayan Cherki, Rayan Ait-Nouri, Marcus Bettinelli, Tijjani Rejnders and James Trafford.
Now heading for Italy, Napoli omitted Romerrukaku after the former Chelsea, West Brom, Everton and Manchester United star suffered thigh injuries during the preseason, leaving him out for at least three months. Continuing the theme of injury, Arcadius Milik was not selected for Juventus’s team 15 months after suffering a serious Polish knee injury.
There were some strange decisions in the Europa League, especially in Nottingham Forest. A total of five summer signatures have been omitted, including club record Omali Hutchinson, which cost £37 million and Arsenal lender Oleksandr Zinchenko.
Fans theorized that Nuno Espirito Santo’s decision would be a direct response to public spats with owner Evangelos Marinakis, and a direct response to his alleged Rift with Edu, the newly appointed global head of Forest.
Angus Gan, Jae Kuña and Kuiabano are also missing after signing Forest this summer. Meanwhile, Jota Silva and Taiwan Awoniyi are not included in the uncertain future of the pair on the ground in the city.
For Aston Villa, the big absence is Ross Barkley. And finally, in the conference league, Mark Guech was named to the Crystal Palace list after failing to travel £35 million to Liverpool on the deadline.
Of course, the January transfer window allows the club to refresh their European teams once the three competitions are over. Teams can register up to three new players by midnight on February 5th, 2026.
