Chelsea finally sealed a £40 million move for former Manchester United star Alejandro Garnacho on the last day of the summer transfer window, but it could take him a while for him to be on the pitch
Alejandro Garnacho remained “unable to move” after his first Chelsea training session. The Argentine winger has already put in effort following a £40 million switch from Manchester United.
However, those who are hoping Garnacho will have an immediate impact at Stamford Bridge may need to spend time. The forward did not have a preseason at Old Trafford prior to his move being banished by Reuben Amorim.
And it took him a bit off the pace when it comes to his fitness. After his first training session with Bruce, Garnacho revealed that he already feels effective.
Speaking to members of the Blues media team, Garnacho said: He added: “I sprinted at the last one.”
With Garnacho being removed from the Argentine team due to the current international break, Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca hopes to be able to build fitness over the coming weeks. Explaining what he can bring to the blues, the Italian coach said:

“Jamie Gittens (signed this summer from Borussia Dortmund) is his profile and we’ll see it with Garnacho. He’s one good winger and he can make things. This is how I see things.”
However, the one star called was Garnacho’s International, now a club teammate, Enzo Fernandez. And the midfielder seemed very enthusiastic about watching this move get over the line.
“I talked to Enzo over the summer because he had asked him many times, ‘When will he come, when will he come?'” Ghanacho said.

“I kept saying he has to be patient, we will play together. He texted me when he said congratulations and I can’t wait to meet him and play together.
If Garnacho speeds up as planned, he could make his debut for the Blues in more than a week. Bruce will travel to Brentford next Saturday, where he aims to continue his campaign’s unbeaten start.
He’ll be forced to wait for his home debut – Chelsea’s next outing at Stamford Bridge will not face Brighton until September 27th. The Bruce will face former Garnacho club Manchester United and Lincoln City, and Bayern Munich, who were away from home before.
