Manchester City lost a back-to-back game after a reverse in Brighton on Sunday, admitting that Starman Rodri was once away from the team.
Manchester City ace Rodri admits that his side was not at the “long, long time” level following his second loss in three Premier League matches.
Pep Guardiola’s side has just three points out of nine possibilities after a loss at Brighton on Sunday afternoon. City was ahead at halftime, but this time he was supported by losing to Tottenham’s hands after falling again at the Amex.
The Manchester outfit was miles away from the final period as the four consecutive titles had finished running. Rodri’s injury ruled out him for most of the season, but was the main reason behind their massive decline.
Many thought that Rodri’s return would see Guardiola’s side return to their sensational best, but that wasn’t the case, and their Spanish stars have admitted that they’ve been away from Miles Top Gear for a while.
He told Sky Sports: “We’re Manchester City and we’re here to win, but this is the reality. We’re not on a level for a long time. The only way to come back is to look at ourselves.

City lost the game late as Brajan Gruda came out of the bench and scored the Seagulls’ 89th minute winner despite the visitors being very dominant in the first half. Guardiola invested in many new faces as his side appeared to reach previous levels.
While things like Rayan Cherki and Tijjani Reijnders have been signed to revive the fate of the team, Rodri still believes he is missing out on his ability to level up with new arrivals that require new arrivals that need to adapt to the demands that come with playing under Guardiola.
Rodri claimed: “We’re missing the level. I don’t know, I call the way you want. It’s a matter of team and change, and new players have to adapt. Of course, when you change teams, it’s not our reality. It’s not an excuse, it’s not a way to achieve this.
Guardiola suffered the way City finished the game when they slid over the lead. “We weren’t good in the last 30 minutes,” he said. “We forgot to hand over the ball, play, long balls.
