Germany lost its first World Cup qualifier in 91 years when hit by beat in Slovakia.
The Germans were expected to secure a daily victory over European enemies, ranked 52nd in the world. But one half of the goals cost them in Slovakia to finish an impressive record for almost a century.
Germany has lost for the fourth time in the World Cup qualifiers so far, with boss Julian Nagelsmann giving a scathing review after the opposite. He accused them of lack of effort and insisted their performance was “pretty tough.”
Germany has been beaten in the last eight major tournaments. They played in home soil and before that they were unable to do it with an aura rather than an aura before, before from the group stage of the World Cup.
The former Bayer Munich boss said: “We didn’t show any emotion in today’s game. In terms of emotion, our opponent was ahead of us. We wanted to go to the World Cup, but today we were miles away.

“The first five minutes of the second half were a little brighter, but the rest was pretty tough. I trust my team, but I need to realize that being a better player than the opponent is not enough unless you show your motivation and desire.
The German appearances for Bratislava were Newcastle’s record Nick Urtemaid and Real Madrid centre half Antonio Rudiger, Liverpool’s new boy Florian Wiltz. Their location is now at risk, but Nagelsmann claims he doesn’t see quality anymore, and instead wants more desire.
He said: “We chose the best players in Germany, but maybe we need to place more emphasis on the quality that gives it all there and have more players.”
The loss in Slovakia could potentially cost Germany’s place in Pot 1 in the World Cup, if qualifying, and Nagelsmann’s team has fallen outside the top nine in FIFA’s world rankings.
Their next mission will see them return to the soil of their home playing Northern Ireland in Cologne. They are in the qualifying group with them, along with Slovakia and Luxembourg.
