Man Utd Star is pulled from international teams to worry about injuries statements | Football | Sports

Manchester United star Diogo Darott was drawn from the Portuguese team ahead of his country’s World Cup qualifiers with Armenia and Hungary. The right back is said to be suffering from muscle discomfort and was replaced by former Arsenal’s fullback Nunotavares.

Darrott has started two Premier League matches this season. The 26-year-old was featured from the start during United’s 1-0 defeat to Arsenal and a 3-2 victory over Burnley. He also played 90 minutes in the second round of the Carabao Cup as the Red Devils were humiliated by League 2 opponent Grimsby. However, the United Chiefs will sweat his fitness ahead of their next clash with Manchester City at Etihad Stadium next Sunday.

The Portuguese Football Association has issued a statement to confirm the news, as they wrote.

“The International, representing Manchester United, has been fired by the Health and Performance Unit, for denouncement of muscle discomfort.”

The statement then explained that Portuguese players will travel from Rome to the Armenian capital Yerevan, ahead of their first encounter with the international break.

Darrott aims to help consolidate the Premier League tables when they return to fitness after an overwhelming start to the campaign.

And the fullback was in optimism as he discussed the £50 million upgrade that his club went to their training ground ahead of the new season.

“So, it was clearly not enough, especially in the first half,” Darot told MUTV after his defeat to Grimsby. “We gave them a game.

“We gave them exactly what they wanted: duels, second balls, set plays. We fought back, but I think we can show it today to the fans who travelled for ourselves and the club.”

“It was obviously not enough. We came here and this competition, this club… they’re really hard to deserve to go through, so you can’t expect it to be easy.

And commenting on what went wrong, he added:

“I think the best way to respect Grimsby was to come here and play 100%, and I think that needs to be improved for the future.

“I’m not going to go through the same sentence over and over again. Today I’ve lost one opportunity to show that we deserve to be here.”
