Manchester United have allowed many players to leave when they were in charge of Reuben Amorim, one of them is approaching finding a new club in the Premier League.
Former Manchester United centre back Victor Lindelof is on the verge of his Premier League return with Aston Villa. The Swedish defender left United when his contract expired at the end of June and has been buying his time while awaiting his next move.
Lindelov joined United from Benfica, where Jose Mourinho was manager and spent eight years at Old Trafford before being let go by Reuben Amorim. He played around 300 games with the club and won domestic cups and formed a team in 2021 and 2025 due to the final defeat of the Europa League.
According to the Times, Lindelov will be receiving medical care with Villa after summer training in his hometown with Vaster. It may not be the only deal involved on the deadline day by Unai Emery’s side.
Question marks remain for the future of Villa goalkeeper Emimmartinez, a potential target for United. When the World Cup winner moves, Emery tries to add a new senior keeper. Reports on the continent suggest that Porto’s Diogo Costa is one option.
Emery is also eager to meet Marco Asensio again. The Spanish forward was impressed with the loan from Paris Saint-Germain last season, but returned to the French capital in the summer.

The villa is mentioned in connection with West Ham playmaker Lucas Paketa. However, the Hammer did not want to be sold, and the Brazilian was named in Starting XI for the game to Nottingham Forest on Sunday afternoon.
Emery’s side has been the busiest of the window so far. Evann Diseand is the best signature from Nice, taking part in at £26 million, including Outch Duo Marco Bizot and Zepiqueno Redmond.
Lindelof’s former club United waited for a clean sheet on Saturday. However, they won the first victory in the new campaign, but Bruno Fernandez scored a last-minute winner in the Topsitterby game against Burnley.
“It’s three points. Looking at the game, you need to solve it in the first half and control the game. But we’re fighting to the end for things getting complicated,” said United boss Amorim. “Looking at the first half, there are a lot of possibilities to score.
