Emiliano Martinez had positive talks with Reuben Amorim about his move to Manchester United, but the goalkeeper ultimately missed the move to Old Trafford
Emiliano Martinez was desperate to secure a move to Manchester United, but despite discussing with Reuben Amorim about the switch to Old Trafford, he never had any wishes.
Argentina was about to leave Aston Villa, so even on the deadline, I was waiting for a call. Martinez proved to be one of Europe’s top goalkeepers during his stay at Villa Park and helped the club create the final eight of the Champions League.

Athletic reports that Martinez also spoke with Reuben Amorim in June and July.
He felt that Martinez would be a valuable addition, but when the Red Devils finally made their move, it was a loan offer and Villa had little interest in accepting it. The club boss then distracted Senne Ranmen, and Martinez was overlooked.

The 23-year-old Belgian arrived from Royal Antwerp on the deadline and cost the club £18.1 million. The problem with Martinez was that the villas would always demand more than £30 million, and United had already spent heavily on the frontline this summer. Argentina’s wages were also a concern.
Lammens joined Amorim under pressure to add a new goalkeeper. Andre Onana remains error prone to errors and was unsure while his understudy Altay Bayindir made a mistake over the opening weekend and helped Arsenal score all three points.
Martinez has not played two of the two of Villa’s three matches, which is his summer arrival, in his summer, in his second appearance. The Spaniards have not completely closed Argentinean doors and claim they could still return there.
He said: “We have to fix it with him. We hope that tomorrow the transfer window will be over and hopefully improve our team. But we’re calm.
