Benjamin Sesco breaks silence with utd start – “Level is higher” | Football | Sports

Manchester United’s new signature, Benjamin Sesco, confessed that the standard for the Premier League is “higher.” United added Sesko from RB Leipzig an additional £7.3 million, for a hefty £66.4 million. Despite Newcastle’s strong chase and Champions League football offers, the young striker has chosen Old Trafford as his summer destination and has written a five-year contract.

Sesco first appeared as an alternative to Arsenal, followed by two more off-the-bench appearances against Fulham and Burnley. His first start was against Grimsby in the Carabao Cup. The 22-year-old has yet to find the backstage of the net since his move from RB Leipzig, but he’s still adjusting after losing pre-season time.

In his international duties with Slovenia, Sesco spoke to the local media about his early days at United.

“The level of the match is certainly much higher, and the players and teammates are at a higher level. After all, British soccer is at the highest level in the world of soccer,” Sesko told Ekipa.

“But I am very much looking forward to the coming period, as I am also getting better and faster in all my training sessions, and I am also moving forward in my soccer mentality every day.

“I wanted to move to England and fortunately my wish came true.”

Sesko discussed the upcoming Manchester Derby and said, “It’s true. It’s an incredibly big match. There will be pressure on both sides just to win this match.

Following his victory over Burnley, Amorim revealed his choice not to introduce Sesco to Scott Parker’s outfit before.

“So he ended the game with a convulsion (Grimsby), it really ended at the limit. So we protected Ben from the penalty,” Amorim revealed.

“And there was a reason for this today as well. (Joshua) Jilky is also a striker, and he’s an international striker, but Ben, I thought he didn’t do it for 90 minutes during the preseason.

“And he did that, even against the Division 4 team, he did it on Wednesday. And with Cunha’s issues, I don’t know if that full game this week has anything to do with today’s injuries.

“Due to the Mason Mount (injury) issues I didn’t take any risk to other players. I didn’t know if they could play that many minutes, so it all connected.

Sesko will be featured in Slovenia in World Cup qualifiers against Sweden and Switzerland.
