Antony joins Real Betis on the deadline and is part of Reuben Amorim’s “Bomb Squad” at Manchester United, along with Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, Alejandro Garnacho and Tyrell Malacia.
Antony revealed about his “difficult” time at Manchester United. Antony joined United from Ajax in 2022 for the first £81.3 million, but he struggled to make many impacts.
The Winger gave 17 goals in 96 appearances in all competitions and spent the second half of last season on loan at Betis after Amorim decided to move him out. Antony was impressed in Spain, scoring five goals and providing five assists in 26 games, and has now completed a permanent move to Betis.
The deal was finalised on the deadline, with Betis diverging around £21 million for the Brazilians. Antony was part of Amorim’s so-called “bomb squad” and trained away from United’s first team over the summer.
Antony, Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, Alejandro Garnacho and Tyrell Malacia form a “bomb squad” and all players except Malacia have left the club.
Rashford joined Barcelona on loan, Sancho spent his season at Aston Villa, and Garnacho traveled £40 million to Chelsea.

Antony spoke about being a part of Amorim’s “bomb squad” during his official announcement at Betis. The winger was having a hard time keeping his tears in check. “I just know what happened in Manchester and how difficult it is,” he said.
“Sorry. I’ll train separately, but it’s a part of life. I knew this moment would come. It’s the past.”
He continued: “What a difference! Seville is more beautiful than Manchester. Finally, I’m here. I spent over 40 days in the hotel. It was very difficult, but everyone wanted me to go back to Betis.
“Now there’s a lot to do and achieve. After seeing the love from Betis fans, I struggled to sleep. There was someone waiting at my house at 2am.
“It was very hard, but we’re here now. I look forward to wearing Betis’ shirts again. I can only thank everyone who made it possible.”
