Mark Guech is reportedly considering resigning as Crystal Palace captain after the club was furious for blocking its travel to Liverpool.
Guehi was scheduled to join Liverpool on the transfer deadline after palace chairman Steve Parish violated manager Oliver Glasner’s wishes to accept the £35 million offer to defender. He completed medical care in London and was to fly to Merseyside to join Alexander Isaac along with the Reds.
However, Parish eventually changes his mind at the very end, pulling the plug in the transfer after Glasner threatens to resign because no replacement was signed. The palace had agreed to Igor Giulio’s loan move with Brighton, but the Brazilians decided to opt for West Ham instead.
The chaotic situation had a major impact on Guech, who was consistently praised by Glasner by Glasner while speculation swirled around him. His current contract with the club will run until June 2026, and the possibility that he will expand it appears to be very far away. His exit was far down the line as the palace recorded a video of Guehi’s farewell, which had been leaked on social media.
